Some Derby County supporters took to Twitter to lavish praise on midfielder Krystian Bielik following his performance in the 1-0 victory over Millwall.

The Rams recorded only their second win of the Championship campaign.

Jason Knight scored the only goal of the game, finishing from close range after Martyn Waghorn’s initial header was saved by Millwall goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski.

There were a number of good performers for Derby but Bielik was a standout.

Taking to Twitter after the game, some Derby supporters highlight his importance to the team.

Bielik joined Derby from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 for a fee rising to £10 million.

The Poland international has bags of ability and potential to improve, but a cruciate ligament injury midway through last season side-lined him for over nine months.

Bielik is finally approaching full fitness following his layoff, and his presence is huge.

The 22-year-old is calm on the ball, can drive forward and create from deep. Out of possession, he covers the ground well while is intelligent and strong in the tackle.

Against Millwall, Bielik posted two tackles, four aerial winners and two key passes (Whoscored). There is no doubt the midfielder has the attributes to go to the very top.

Derby’s victory takes them off the bottom of the Championship table. With three games unbeaten, momentum is growing and a belief that the Rams can push on.
