Derby County have had plenty of different coaches in the dugout at Pride Park over the years but few will be quite as tight-knit as the current bunch. Having worked together at another club, the Rams are being guided by some experienced operators under Paul Warne.

But who are the faces on the touchline? With that said, here’s a look at the coaching staff at Derby.

Derby County appointed Paul Warne as the club’s new head coach in September 2023, replacing interim manager Liam Rosenior. The Norfolk-born coach joined from Rotherham, where he had guided the Millers to three promotions from League One.

With hopes that his expertise in the third tier would help the Rams achieve promotion of their own, they narrowly missed out on the play-offs in his first season in charge.

Upon his arrival at Derby, Paul Warne brought a host of experienced coaches along with him from Rotherham. Richie Barker is one of those, having acted as number two to the head coach since 2017.

Barker has experience as a first-team head coach, as well as plenty of appearances in his playing days. He is often seen in the dugout shouting orders when Warne isn’t there himself.

Another integral part of the coaching team is Matt Hamshaw, who oversees general first-team actions on the coaching side. The 42-year-old had been part of the staff at Rotherham United that won the EFL Trophy and promotion to the Championship.

Rounding up the coaching department, Andy Warrington was the third assistant coach to switch from Rotherham to Derby with Paul Warne. Warrington was a goalkeeper himself throughout his playing career before he turned his attention to coaching.
