Derby County manager Phillip Cocu has suggested to RamsTV how striker Jack Marriott could face Northampton Town in the FA Cup this week after returning from injury.
Marriott has missed Derby’s past two matches against Middlesbrough and Hull City.

It has been frustrating for the striker after scoring in the win against Barnsley on January 2.
But, speaking to RamsTV, Cocu says Marriott is expected to return to training this week and he could feature against hometown club Northampton Town on Friday.
I expect Jack will return to training on Monday, I don’t know if he can do everything with the team. It depends what he can do with the team, he will need a few days training.

Marriott has struggled with injuries on a consistent basis this season.
Many Derby supporters consider the striker to be the best finisher at the club. However, it’s a battle to get Marriott featuring on a consistent basis for the Rams.
The 25-year-old has made just nine Championship starts this term. It seems every time he starts consecutive matches by the third game he is out injured again.
Derby have missed his presence. Despite netting just two goals this season, Marriott stretches the defence by looking to run in behind and work the channels.

The Rams face the Cobblers on Friday at the PTS Academy Stadium after beating Premier League side Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park in the third round.
