Some Derby County fans have taken to Twitter to praise midfielder Max Bird following his impressive performance in the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.
The Rams had to settle for a point despite taking the lead against the Terriers.

Tom Lawrence fired Derby in-front with a wonderful 25-yard strike. Harry Toffolo, however, equalised after poor defensive work from Jayden Bogle and Curtis Davies.
Max Bird was the standout for Derby. And several supporters believe the Rams have a big talent on their hands as he continues to impress in midfield.
That deserved a goal. Max Bird, wow. Fantastic. #dcfc

This Max Bird fella at Derby County is generational…
He’s like a mix of peak Nemanja Matic, Daley Blind’s technique, and Sergio Busquets. Left footed.
Watch out for this young lad. #dcfc

Unpopular opinion time. Max Bird is the best of the youngsters. I include both full backs in that. We really are lucky with our academy #dcfc

Max Bird is like a cross between prime Thorne and Will Hughes. Another class performance from him. Saved us a few quid in the summer… #dcfc

Bird made his Derby debut last season in the 4-0 defeat at Aston Villa.
The 19-year-old didn’t seem to be ready at the time. However, after more experience with the U23s, he now looks right at home in Derby’s first team eleven.
Bird has made the holding midfield slot his own with summer signing Krystian Bielik ruled out for the next nine months following an ACL knee ligament injury.
Against Huddersfield, Bird posted an 89.4 pass-accuracy rate and five tackles.
In a game where Graeme Shinnie and Wayne Rooney looked off the pace, Bird stepped up and ticked things over for Derby despite Huddersfield’s pressing off the ball.

Derby have plenty of young talent in Jayden Bogle, Max Lowe, Jason Knight and Louie Sibley. Max Bird, however, may just be the most promising of the lot.
