Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes former Derby County loanee Mason Mount is now worth £60 million or more as he praises Chelsea’s young stars, Sky Sports report.

Mount joined Derby last season on a season-long loan deal. He became an immediate hit with the Rams supporters, alongside Harry Wilson and Fikayo Tomori.

The midfielder’s impressive performances in the Championship even warranted an England call-up. Now, he is a regular in Gareth Southgate’s side.

Liverpool take on Chelsea this weekend, and Klopp believes the Blues are reminiscent of his former Borussia Dortmund side as he singles out their young players for praise.

Tammy Abraham is now a £60m player, Mason Mount is for sure a £60m player, if not more, Callum Hudson-Odoi was that already. It’s a really exciting team, it reminds me a little bit of my team at Dortmund years back when they were really young. People were always talking about how young they are, but they only played because they were good.

Will Mason Mount go down as Derby County’s best ever loan player?

Derby were fortunate to have three top quality loan signings last season. Tomori won the club’s Player of the Year award, while Wilson topped the scoring charts.

But Mount was arguably the best player in the Championship last term. The 20-year-old scored nine goals and grabbed four assists in 38 starts for the Rams. He was instrumental as Derby reached the playoff final, eventually losing out to Aston Villa.

Mount has taken to Premier League football with ease. He has three goals in five starts for Chelsea – reminiscent of his manager Frank Lampard’s previous goal scoring exploits.

Derby supporters feel Mount is their best loan signing since Leon Osman. At this rate, the midfielder is likely to go on to surpass the former Everton favourite.
