According to Polish editorial TVP, Derby County’s Kamil Jozwiak has been Poland’s breakout star in 2020 as he featured in more games than any other player.

The talented winger joined Derby for around £3.5 million last month.

The Rams have this season vastly unperformed. With just one win and five goals scored in 11 games, Jozwiak’s new side sit at the bottom of the Championship table.

Derby’s form has since cost Dutchman Phillip Cocu his job as manager.

But on the international stage, Jozwiak has flourished and capped off his breakout 2020 with his first goal for Poland in their 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands.

Jozwiak ran from inside his own half, cut inside two defenders before slotting off the post.

The 22-year-old has enormous potential. And it seems Poland are keen to unleash it, with Jozwiak the only national team player to feature in all eight games this calendar year.

“Kamil Jozwiak has an increasingly confident position in the squad. As many as 30 players featured for the national team, but he was the only player to feature in all the games and he documented his successful year with a goal against Holland,” TVP write.

Derby will be hoping Jozwiak can also be a big hit at Pride Park.

Wayne Rooney and Liam Rosenior make up a managerial team who will take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday, and Derby need to hit the ground running.

Back-to-back defeats against Queens Park Rangers and Barnsley before the international break sees confidence low, while there is talk of needing to go back to basics.

Jozwiak’s best role is on the left. With Tom Lawrence a regular there, Rooney and co face an immediate challenge in order to get Derby’s forward players firing.
