Derby County moved a step closer to promotion back to the Championship on Friday afternoon.
A 1-0 win over Blackpool at Pride Park provided the perfect response to the defeat to Northampton Town last time out.
Combined with results elsewhere, that means Paul Warne‘s side are now six points clear of the play-off places in the race for automatic promotion.
It was Ebou Adams who did the damage on Friday for Derby County. The on-loan Cardiff City midfielder produced a stunning strike from the edge of the area 40 minutes in for the only goal of the game.
Now it seems as though the 28-year-old certainly enjoyed himself in that victory over Blackpool.
Ebou Adams reflects on big win
Having joined on loan from Cardiff City back in the January transfer window, Friday delivered a landmark moment for Adams.
His goal in the victory over Blackpool is the first that he has scored since making the move to Derby County.
Add in the significance of the win, and the midfielder is understandably pleased with how things played out on Friday.
Taking to Instagram to react to that victory over Neil Critchley’s side at Pride Park, Adams wrote:
“General 🫡 What a performance from the boys 😁 buzzing to get my first for the club, especially at pride park 🐏🐏”
Among those to react to that post was the midfielder’s Derby County teammate Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who said:
“Eboooooooooiuuuuuuu!!!! Love it brother 🙏🏽❤️”
Next up for the Rams is a trip to a trip to Fratton Park to face league leaders Portsmouth on Tuesday night in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
Derby County will be loving Ebou Adams
Just as Adams seems to be enjoying his time at Pride Park, those at the club will be delighted to have him there as well.
The midfielder has been excellent since he arrived at the club, becoming a vital component of this push for promotion.
Indeed, even on Friday, the Gambia international was excellent beyond his goal. That has already seen him win plenty of praise for his all-round performance in this win for Derby County.
With all of that in mind, it is hard not to imagine that many connected with the club will be desperate to see him back at Pride Park beyond the end of this season.
Winninng promotion back to the Championship, would certain strengthen their chances of doing that come the summer.
Of course, given, the influence he is now exerting at Derby County, Adams looks as though he could be key to any hopes they have of doing that.
As a result, the midfielder could now have a big say in his own future, and that of the club, over the next month or so.
