Derby County are back in action again on Wednesday as they take on Chesterfield in some pre-season action.

The Rams have already picked up wins against Matlock Town and Stockport County during the summer preparations, as the squad looks to gain fitness.

However, for Paul Warne, the trip to the SMH Group Stadium will be more of a dress rehearsal than your standard pre-season match.

That’s because Derby face Chesterfield in the first round of the Carabao Cup this season, offering the chance to gain some early insights before the tie.

The friendly also offers the chance for plenty more minutes in the tank for key players as they look to step up preparations ahead of the new Championship season.

So with that said, here’s a look at everything you need to know about Derby’s pre-season friendly against Chesterfield.

Derby County team news

Derby boss Warne is set to test his players and their fitness once again when his side takes on Chesterfield on Wednesday.

The Rams could be set for a full squad available as Joe Ward missed out on the previous friendly as he looks to recover from injury.

The availability of Ebou Adams is currently unknown though, after the midfielder was forced off against Stockport with a knock to the leg.
