One Derby County youngster has earned himself a brilliant ‘prize’ after a brilliant start to 2024.

One player who will be desperate to make an appearance at the national stadium in May is Dajaune Brown, who played a ‘key role’ in Gateshead’s progression to the FA Trophy final.
Dajaune Brown enjoying a ‘great’ loan spell
Having netted nine goals in nine appearances in the U18 Premier League last season, Brown went onto make five appearances in all competitions for the first team this time round.
He then went onto join Gateshead on loan in January and has been brilliant ever since, scoring six goals in 14 games and also earning himself a nomination for the League One Apprentice of the Season.
With Gateshead sat sixth in the National League, Brown will be hoping to travel to Wembley Stadium in the play-offs, but he has already secured himself a trip to the English capital in the FA Trophy.
The 18-year-old started as The Tynesiders beat Macclesfield in the semi-final yesterday, meaning he will now be part of the team that takes on Solihull Moors on May 11.
Brown’s move to Gateshead has proven hugely successful, and journalist Leigh Curtis was keen to praise him on social media.
Curtis wrote on X: “Dajaune Brown is heading to Wembley. Played a key role in Gateshead’s win over Macclesfield in the FA Trophy today. Grabbed two assists in their win and it has been a great move for him. What a prize at the end of it.”

Dajaune Brown is clearly an unbelievable talent and has certainly settled into senior football very comfortably, netting all six goals in his last seven games in the National League – despite starting only five matches.
The Rams have brought through some brilliant youngsters from their academy over the years, and Brown may well be another that is highly sought after.
The teenager may have to wait to make an impact on the Rams’ first team if they are promoted, but fans will be eager to see him given a chance to impress if not.
The club need to handle his position very carefully and, if they can avoid any top clubs trying to snap him up, then they could have a star in the making on their hands.
