According to Jeorge Bird’s Arsenal Youth, Derby County are closing in on the signing of 18-year-old striker Luke Plange.
The teenager has scored seven goals in 23 appearances for the Gunners’ U18s and was rewarded with a call up to the U23s, however, he has been told by the club that he won’t be offered professional terms.
At the beginning of the 2019/20 campaign, Plange was one of several youngsters offered an opportunity to train with the Arsenal first team due to impressing in the youth ranks.

Plange recently spent time on trial with fellow Championship outfit QPR, for whom he featured at U18 level.
A move to Loftus Road seemed like a foregone conclusion, but Derby have seemingly swooped in to hijack the R’s and win the race.
Should the move be completed, he shall join 16-year-old Bayo Fapetu in swapping North London for the East Midlands.
Fapetu recently confirmed his move from Arsenal to Derby, and striker Plange will also be trading the Gunners for the Rams.
Plange is certainly one for the future, but will have real hope of breaking into Wayne Rooney’s first team next season once his move goes through.
