Colin Kazim-Richards has been spotted at Derby County’s training ground on transfer deadline day.
Colin Kazim-Richards finds himself without a club after a very long career in senior football.
The 37-year-old has played for 18 different clubs in his 20-year long career, including the likes of Brighton, Fenerbahce and Celtic.
Kazim-Richards has been all over the world, but Derby County will most remember him for his two-year stint at Pride Park.
The striker joined The Rams from Mexican club Lobos BUAP in October 2020, scoring his first goal two months later in a 1-1 draw with Coventry City.
Kazim-Richards netted eight goals and provided two assists in his first season back in the Championship, including winners against QPR and Bristol City, as well as a dramatic equaliser against Nottingham Forest.
The forward signed a one-year contract extension but struggled to make as much of an impact in the following campaign, where he struggled with an achilles injury.
However, his three goals proved to one again be really important, bagging winners against West Brom and Stoke, as well as contributing to a dramatic comeback against Reading.
Kazim-Richards went onto join Fatih Karagumruk, but has now been a free agent since leaving in the summer.
Could Kazim-Richards return to Derby County?
During a day where Derby County have been desperate to sign a striker, Kazim-Richards has now taken to Instagram to share a video of him training at Moor Farm.
While the Rams are really eager to bring in some back-up for James Collins, I think it’s fair to assume they won’t be bringing their cult hero back to the club.
The veteran is well loved at Pride Park, but he is far from what Derby require to win promotion right now.
They are most likely just allowing him to train with the club until he can find himself a new adventure.
