Corey Blackett-Taylor is preparing to face Charlton Athletic, just weeks after leaving to join Derby County.
After an underwhelming spell with Tranmere Rovers, Corey Blackett-Taylor completed a move to Charlton in 2021.
It didn’t take long for the winger to settle in and he went onto net 20 goals and provide 14 assists for The Addicks, before earning his move to Pride Park.
It was his record this term that really attracted attention, with Blackett-Taylor already matching last season’s goal tally (8) and doubling his assists (6).
The 26-year-old signed for The Rams earlier this month and went onto make his first start against Cheltenham Town at the weekend.
Blackett-Taylor had plenty of clubs to choose from during the January window, with the likes of Hull City, Plymouth Argyle and Huddersfield Town all looking to lure him to the Championship.
However, he ended up staying in the third tier and has claimed that it was Nathaniel Mendez-Laing who helped convinced him to make the switch to the Midlands.
Speaking to BBC Radio Derby, the attacker said: “He was part of the whole transfer. We spoke a lot and he was trying to get me to come.

“He was saying we can almost help each other in games – he will be doing damage on one wing and I will be doing damage on the other.”
Blackett-Taylor could make his second start for the club against Charlton this weekend, but he has insisted that he doesn’t have anything to prove.
“I don’t think I have that much to prove other than trying to help the team to win,” he said.
“I’m here now and part of Derby. I’m relishing it more than anything.”
Can Blackett-Taylor kick on against Charlton?
It wasn’t really the best first start for Corey Blackett-Taylor against Cheltenham Town last time out.
The winger only completed four passes, had zero shots and lost possession eight times – though the overall team performance wasn’t up to scratch either.
Blackett-Taylor is likely to be at his best against Charlton and fans will be excited to see what he can bring to the team, as we really need him to hit the ground running during what seems to be a rather tough spell.
