Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has responded on Twitter to rubbish a suggestion Derby County favourite Jack Marriott could re-sign on loan.
Marriott has missed Derby’s past two matches with an apparent injury.

And to spark rumours, the former Peterborough United striker was spotted at London Road in midweek to watch Posh beat League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers 4-0.
But when asked if a loan deal could be on the cards, MacAnthony dismissed the suggestion and added Marriott was merely back in town as his guest at the game.

Marriott has struggled to get going at Derby this season.
The former Posh striker cost Derby around a £5 million fee in the summer of 2018. He quickly became a fans favourite at Pride Park for his quality in-front of goal.
Marriott netted big goals for Derby, scoring in cup games against Premier League opposition Manchester United, Chelsea and Southampton. But his most telling contribution came in the playoff semi-final second leg at Leeds United, scoring twice including the winner.
This season, however, injuries have limited Marriott to just nine Championship starts. The 25-year-old plays on the shoulder. He is explosive, and he is regarded as a top finisher.
Marriott, however, has struggled for consistency. It seems he can’t manager to play three games in succession without picking up an injury. It has been incredibly frustrating.

Derby boss Phillip Cocu may have a big decision to make this summer. The Dutchman needs a reliable striker, and one who plays to the strength of the team.
