Derby County winger Kamil Jozwiak currently ranks in the top 15 best players at the European Championships in the player stats section on UEFA’s official website.
Jozwiak joined Derby from Lech Poznan last summer for around £3 million.
The 23-year-old winger has an abundance of ability, but he struggled to show that in Derby colours last season as he posted just one goal and three assists.
In a Poland shirt, however, he is having no such issues.
Polish editorial SportTVP dubbed Jozwiak a ‘treasure’ and tipped him to become the long-term replacement for Kamil Grosicki before the European Championships.
And after two rounds, his stock has only grown further.
Kamil Jozwiak impresses at Euro2020:
Jozwiak played well in Poland’s opening game against Slovakia despite losing. He followed that up with a telling contribution in the 1-1 draw with Spain on Saturday.
The Derby winger provided a pinpoint cross for Robert Lewandowski’s equaliser which now gives Poland an opportunity to advance to the next round.
Over the course of the two games, Jozwiak has posted seven tackles, 11 recoveries, a 78% pass-accuracy rate, one assist and a top sprint speed of 31.7km/h – faster than Kylian Mbappe.
UEFA currently rank him as the 14th best player at Euro 2020.
Jozwiak is quick in tight spaces and possesses excellent ball control. He needs to work on his end-product, but that will come in time. Derby have a top player on their hands.
The Rams, however, must find a way to get the best out of him. Jozwiak undoubtedly looks far more at ease surrounded with more intelligent and technical players in a Poland shirt.
