A League One promotion rival to Derby County could be in line for a staggering cash windfall in this month’s transfer window.
Derby County currently sit in 4th place of the League One table after an upturn in form over the past several weeks, with Paul Warne‘s side having lost just once in the league since October.
The Rams saw a nine-game unbeaten run in League One halted by 3rd place Peterborough United last time out.
Posh won the game 3-2 at Pride Park to move three points ahead of Derby in the race for promotion to the Championship, and Darren Ferguson’s side could be in store for a huge windfall this month.

Former Posh striker Ivan Toney is once again the subject of transfer interest, with reports suggesting that Arsenal or Chelsea could make their move this month, and that Brentford will command £100million for the 27-year-old.
And Peterborough United would be due a staggering 30% of any Toney sale.
But that’s not all; Posh centre-back Ronnie Edwards is of interest to Crystal Palace and Peterborough have set a £10million asking price for him.

For Peterborough and indeed any club in the Football League, £40million is a colossal sum of money and a sum that could completely change the outlook of the club.
So Posh will be praying that that someone dips deep into their pockets to buy Toney this month, and that they do so sooner rather than later.
If a move for Toney can go through in the next week or so then it could give Peterborough ample time to put some of that money to use in the transfer market.
And that would surely be bad news for the Rams.
Posh outclassed Derby at Pride Park and perhaps reminded Warne and his players of the task lying ahead of them this season.
Bolton and Portsmouth remain the top two teams and both have been so throughout the campaign so far, with Derby currently five points behind Bolton in 2nd but looking quite a way behind in terms of quality.
So should Posh spend big this month and close the gap, it could subject Derby to a top six finish at best, facing one of Posh, Bolton, or Pompey to play in the play-offs.
