The summer transfer window was a hectic one for Paul Warne as he looked to bolster his Derby County side to compete in the Championship this season.
Some interesting business saw several new faces join the Rams, with the likes of Jacob Widell Zetterstrom, David Ozoh, Kenzo Goudmijn, Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates among those already settled into the starting 11.
The new recruits have helped Derby amass nine points from their opening five games, cementing a decent start back in the second tier.
There were some concerns that Warne didn’t bolster the striker ranks, though that could be revisited in the January transfer window.
A bolstering of sorts has still happened there though, following news of a brand new contract in that department.

Dajaune Brown signs new Derby County contract
Derby have announced that young striker Dajaune Brown has signed a new contract with the club until 2027.
The forward – who previously had a deal until 2026 – came through the academy at under-18s and under-23s level.
The 18-year-old was handed a first taste of senior football last season when he spent the second half of the campaign at National League side Gateshead on loan.
Brown scored six goals and assisted four in the league while helping the side win the FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium too.
The youngster returned to Derby in the summer, taking part in the first-team pre-season for the second season in a row.
While there were plenty of teams looking to make a loan move for Brown, it was decided that he would stay at the club, where he has been in every first-team squad so far.

Dajaune Brown discusses Derby County aims
With the future now settled for the striker, Brown has discussed his aims for the season ahead while around the first-team.
He told RamsTV: “It’s just to continue pushing really and try to get in and around the starting 11 and just try to get more minutes as they come, so when my opportunity does come, I’m capable of taking it.”
There is certainly an opportunity for Brown to make a mark at Derby, not least when assessing the current contract situation.
James Collins and Conor Washington are out of contract at the end of the season, while Jerry Yates’ loan comes to an end.
That leaves a big gap to fill in terms of strikers and while the club could look to delve into the market, it could be one of their own who steps in that place.
It remains to be seen whether Brown can fit in at Championship level, but it’ll be his task to make the case that he can.
