Derby County don’t know what division they will be in next season, but they have been linked with a potential signing.
The Rams still aren’t safe from relegation, and it could go down to the wire as Wayne Rooney bids to keep Derby in the Championship.
Derby could already be looking at a possible addition though, as Gloucestershire Live reported earlier in April that Felix Miles of Cheltenham Town is a target.
The 17-year-old has been coming through Cheltenham’s ranks since joining at Under-9 level, having previously been on the books at Forest Green Rovers.
Miles even joined Benfica for training in 2017, and it’s thought that he has a bright future – especially after winning an award this week.
Miles has been named the League Football Association’s Apprentice of the Season for the 2020-21 campaign, recognising Miles’ ability.
Derby are surely paying close attention to Miles’ progress at Cheltenham, and if they aren’t careful, they could end up playing against him next season after Cheltenham won promotion to League One.
The Rams raided Cheltenham in 2016 for Luke Thomas, and may hope to do it again with Miles, with this award the latest indication that he is a real talent for the future.
