Derby County fans saw their next big star announce himself on the Pride Park stage against Hull City, as Dajaune Brown rescued a point for the Rams.

The youngster came on as a substitute, with Hull leading in the match, as Paul Warne relied on the academy star to find a goal.

Brown was a nuisance for the visiting defence, winning aerial duels, making his way into the channels and battling with the backline.

His hard work and effort were rewarded with a goal, nodding on a looping effort from Ben Osborn’s set-piece delivery.

It was a moment the Derby striker won’t forget and he came in for plenty of praise from one of his teammates.

Ebou Adams gives verdict on Dajaune Brown

After scoring a first goal for Derby, Ebou Adams dished out plenty of praise for Brown in being patient for his chance.

Speaking to RamsTV, the midfielder said: “It’s very special to be part of, I’m really happy for him because he’s had to be patient.

“As a young player, you have to be patient because your opportunity can come at any given time, but there’s no surprise that he’s come on and done that. I’m buzzing for him.

“He gives everything and you’ve just seen it today; running the channels and winning the flick-ons.

“The header was unbelievable to be fair because it loops over the goalkeeper. It’s a good finish and you can tell by the celebration how much he loved it as well.”

Up until that point, Brown had only been handed 14 minutes of action in the Championship, while cup action hasn’t been an option.

With 44 minutes now under his belt, and a first goal, the striker will be looking to motor on and pick up even more goals.

It shines a bright light for Derby in their hopes of bringing more academy products through into the first team.

Dajaune Brown injury update

One of the only downsides to the afternoon at Pride Park against Hull was an injury Brown picked up after his goal.

The 19-year-old appeared to pick up a slight ankle issue, which forced him to come off after playing just 30 minutes from the bench.

Fortunately, Warne revealed after the game that the academy star is expected to be fine, with the injury not a huge issue.

It could now put him in line for a start, with a run of three tough fixtures coming up for Derby before the international break.

Trips away to Stoke and Coventry will see the Rams look to pick up their first win on the road and extend their unbeaten run.
