Clarke, however, struggled for game-time and Spurs recalled him in January 2020.
It’s at this time Derby reportedly joined a queue of clubs vying for his signature.
According to Football Insider, the Rams, Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Millwall and Middlesbrough were keen, but it was Queens Park Rangers who ultimately signed him.
Former Derby boss Phillip Cocu was desperate to add some speed out wide, with the Rams eventually signing Poland international Kamil Jozwiak last summer.
Clarke, meanwhile, has returned to the Championship for a third time since his move to Tottenham, this time joining Derby’s upcoming opponents Stoke in January.

The 20-year-old has made 13 appearances for the Potters, starting their last two games.
Clarke grabbed an assist in the 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers in his last outing at the Bet365 Stadium, and he will be hoping to kick on again against Derby.
