Livingston striker Lee Miller told Capital City Press how reported Derby County target Lyndon Dykes is fearless and has been absolutely first class this season.

Dykes has attracted plenty of interest of late following his impressive form.

Dykes only made his Livingston debut this season after joining in January. But teammate Lee Miller believes the 24-year-old forward thrives on the pressure to perform.

He’s been fantastic this season – absolutely first class – and teams are pinpointing him a bit now and taking notice. It doesn’t matter who he plays against, he treats it the same and I admire that. Nothing fazes Lyndon. I see kids and adults going up against a Celtic or Rangers jersey and they think, ‘Oh, wait a minute here’. That shouldn’t be the case but people get fazed about playing against a shirt – not a player. Lyndon isn’t like that and that will stand him in good stead for the future.

Should Derby County consider Lyndon Dykes?

Dykes has been a bit hit for the Scottish side, scoring five goals and grabbing two assists in 14 appearances – including a strike in the 2-0 win over Celtic.

Born in Australia but with Scottish relatives, the Scottish Premiership forward is now likely to be at the centre of a tug-of-war for his allegiance on the international scene.

Dykes could turn out to be a bargain deal. He is rated at £250,000 by transfermarkt. Livingston, meanwhile, know they can’t compete when it comes to wages.

Derby have often looked north of the border for potential bargains. Craig Bryson and Johnny Russell prove they are out there and can thrive at Championship level.

Dykes may still be raw, but the forward has plenty of potential. He can play across the front three positions, and at 6ft 2inch he has plenty of physicality about him.

The Rams may feel there are more pressing areas of the squad to strengthen. However, if a bargain is there to be had in January they should consider making a move.
