Paul Warne has been handed an injury boost ahead of Derby County’s home clash against Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
Derby were beaten 1-0 by Sheffield United last weekend but Paul Warne’s men have made a solid start on their Championship return.
The Rams currently sit in 10th position with nine points accumulated from six matches played, all of which have come at Pride Park.
They’ll be looking to continue their 100% home record against Norwich this weekend but will be without a few first-team players.
Callum Elder was taken off in the loss to Sheffield United with a groin injury while midfielders David Ozoh and Liam Thompson will also miss this weekend’s clash.
Luckily, it isn’t all bad news for Warne, who could have one of his summer signings back in contention.

Tawana Chirewa is in contention for Derby County vs Norwich City
Young attacking midfielder Tawanda Chirewa was signed on loan from Wolves towards the end of the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old was expected to wrestle his way into the starting XI but after suffering a concussion while on international duty for Zimbabwe, Chirewa was absent for the win over Cardiff City and defeat against the Blades.
So far, the on-loan talent has only featured for 45 minutes in the Carabao Cup as Derby were beaten 3-2 by Barrow on penalties.
Now, in the latest update on his fitness, Chirewa could be in contention to make his first Championship appearance for the Rams, as per Derbyshire Live.
The report reads: “The on-loan Wolves midfielder was absent at the weekend but is available again after undergoing concussion protocol following a head injury sustained while on international duty.”
At a time when Warne has seen Ozoh suffer a long-term injury, Chirewa’s return to the squad will be a welcomed one.

Tawanda Chirewa’s biggest problem at Derby County
Warne’s squad is stacked with talented midfielders and currently, there are several ahead of Chirewa in the pecking order.
The current preferred trio in the absence of Ozoh is Ebou Adams, Ben Osborn and Kenzo Goudmijn, with the on-loan Wolves star waiting for his opportunity from the bench.
With the talented players ahead of him and more likely to start, Chirewa will have to showcase his talent on the training ground to be in starting contention.
However, at this moment in time, the youngster can take advantage of minutes as a sub and hopefully use those chances as a springboard for a regular place in the side.
