Paul Warne has explained his verdict after Louie Sibley grabbed a brace for Derby against Notts County in the EFL Trophy.
Derby took a huge step towards the knockout stages of the EFL Trophy last night as they beat Notts County 2-1 at Meadow Lane.
The hero of the night was Louie Sibley who scored both goals in either half. The win sees Derby’s unbeaten run extended to seven games in all competitions.
Sibley was given the chance to impress, after his disappointment at being snubbed of an appearance against Cheltenham at the weekend.
Following the game, Rams boss Paul Warne explained he was very pleased with the contribution of Sibley.

Warne was delighted with the academy graduates display as he raved about him according to the Derby Telegraph.
“I am pleased for Sibs to score a couple of goals and he hit the bar early,” he said.
“They all could have scored loads. But the finish for the first goal was good, and the second one obviously took the pressure off if there is such a thing.
“That allowed us to play a little bit but I am pleased for Sibs because he obviously didn’t come on at the weekend.
“This game suited him and obviously people aren’t happy when they are not in the team. You give them an opportunity and it’s their time to shine. There were some good things he did and he can be pleased.”
Should he get League One chance?
Sibley has been really impressive in EFL Trophy action this season, as he also scored in the opening clash of group G against Lincoln City.
Therefore it does make sense that he is given a chance to prove himself in league action.
At just 22, Sibley has plenty of time to come good in a Derby shirt, and we are excited to see him throughout this season.
