According to the Daily Mail, Wayne Rooney is in impressive shape as he begins training with Derby County ahead of his move this coming January.
Rooney agreed a deal to join the Rams in the summer.
The Daily Mail claim he will earn £100,000 per week at Pride Park, making him the Championship’s highest earner in a deal which has caused plenty of controversy.

Rooney’s wage will be funded in part by a deal with betting company 32Red. The former Manchester United man will wear the number 32 in a Rams shirt.
The majority of the Derby supporters, however, are only interested in what Rooney provides on the pitch and he has seemingly arrived at Moor Farm in decent shape.
Rooney’s MLS campaign only finished a couple of weeks ago. DC United were eliminated from the Eastern Conference as they succumbed to defeat in Toronto.
While it was a disappointing end for Rooney, his MLS spell was largely a success. He scored 25 goals in 52 games for the club largely playing in a deeper role.
Where will Wayne Rooney fit in at Derby County?
Derby boss Phillip Cocu will have plenty to think about come January.
The Dutchman has mainly deployed a 4-2-3-1 system. However, after a tough start, Cocu switched up to a diamond system last Saturday and it worked a treat.

Tom Lawrence, playing in his favoured number 10 role behind two strikers, netted a double as the Rams comfortably beat strugglers Middlesbrough 2-0.
Rooney is now best suited to playing off the striker. That said, the 34-year-old may find his ideal role is already occupied at Derby handing Cocu a potential selection headache.
