Several Derby County players have told Rams TV how winger Florian Jozefzoon is the club’s most skillful player despite the Dutchman starting few games this season.

After naming the worst dressed, hardest man and the funniest teammate, the players involved were then tasked with naming the most skillful and they all had the same response.

“Most skilful has to be Flo. He’s quite tricky on his day,” George Evans explained.

“Flo’s got quick feet,” remarked Martyn Waghorn while Jayden Bogle added. “Flo. I try and learn a couple of his tricks but it’s too complicated sometimes.”

Curtis Davies reserved the most praise for the Dutchman, saying: “Flo. It’s the way he moves his body left and right. He’s very hard one vs one.”

Florian Jozefzoon’s struggles at Derby County:

Jozefzoon joined the Rams in the summer of 2018. He was one of Frank Lampard’s main summer buys, arriving for a reported £2.75 million fee from Brentford.

The 28-year-old, however, only made 13 Championship starts last season. Jozefzoon was utilised more off the bench, contributing with just two goals and one assist.

This season, his struggles have continued. In six starts, he has made just one assist while he averages just 0.3 successful dribbles and 0.5 key passes per game.

Arguably Flo’s worst stat this season, however, has been his inability to record a single successful cross. Of all those that he’s attempted, not one has found a Derby shirt.

The biggest arguement against him is that he is rarely noticeable out there.

With Phillip Cocu in charge, many Rams supporters were hopeful Jozefzoon would find some form. However, he just hasn’t got going and could be in danger of being cast aside.
