Rooney opened the scoring in the second half with a Panenka penalty. Fulham’s leading scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic, however, equalised with a sharp finish.
Derby will feel they should have won the game on chances created. And, taking to Twitter, many felt Rooney was the instigator behind Derby’s best passages of play.
Love watching what players do off the ball.. and I've never seen anyone as good as Rooney to create space for himself and others…. just an absolute baller all round.. #dcfc

Rooney has shown his quality since joining the club in January.
It’s no coincidence that Derby’s form has improved with Rooney in the team. The Rams have won six, drawn four and lost just twice of his 12 starts for the club.
Fulham arrived at Pride Park boasting an array of talent. Mitrovic, Bobby Reid, Anthony Knockart, Ivan Cavaleiro and Tom Cairney are all Premier League quality players.
But Rooney outshone them all. He no longer possesses blistering pace. However, on the ball he still has excellent vision, ball control and passing range.
The 34-year-old made three key passes and posted an 84.6% pass-accuracy rate. His Panenka penalty illustrated his technical brilliance at key moments.

Derby are moving in the right direction. Keep Rooney fit and add some quality in the summer, and the Rams should certainly be in the mix next season.
