Derby County supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on the rumours linking them with Lee Bowyer.
According to the Daily Mail, The Rams have made discreet enquiries about the Charlton Athletic boss as uncertainty grows over Frank Lampard’s future.

Lampard is seen as a good fit for the Blues. He promotes youth, plays an attractive brand of football and would get the backing of Chelsea fans under what could be a difficult time amid a transfer embargo.
Bowyer has been cited as a potential replacement at Derby, but supporters appear quite torn on the idea.

The man has just got a team on a budget promoted back into the 2nd tier, despite all the off field problems they have had regarding ownership, and done what Frank has done here, being the fans together and getting them buzzing again, think it’s too easy to be critical at times

Lee Bowyer definitely hasn’t been given sufficient credit for achieving promotion in very difficult circumstances. Derby County allegedly have him on their radar should Frank Lampard be Chelsea bound. Would swap managers in a heart beat

Could Lee Bowyer be a good fit for Derby County?
Bowyer is a former Leeds United midfielder enjoying his first success in management. He guided Charlton to promotion to the Championship via the playoffs with the Addicks finishing third in League One.
The 42-year-old Addicks boss is similar to Lampard in some aspects. He also plays an attractive brand of football and promotes youth. Joe Aribo and Lyle Taylor are two standouts for Charlton, performing well for the London club this past season.

Derby owner Mel Morris would be wise to sound out potential replacements should Lampard leave this summer. In Bowyer, he could be the right fit and a cheap option as the manager’s contract at Charlton is expiring.
The Rams have a big summer ahead of them regardless of the speculation over Lampard’s future. They will need to replace key loan players Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount and Harry Wilson. Moreover, several players have departed Pride Park with their contracts expiring, leaving a big void to fill.
