Some Millwall supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on confirmation of Scott Malone joining the Lions on a permanent deal following his contract expiry at Derby County.
Malone joined the Rams from Huddersfield Town in 2018.
The former Fulham left-back was a first-team regular under Frank Lampard in the 2018-19 campaign, but he fell out of favour at Pride Park under Lampard’s successor Phillip Cocu.

The emergence of Lee Buchanan plus the return of Craig Forsyth from injury meant Malone was surplus to requirements at Derby, prompting a loan move to Millwall.
Malone has impressed in a wingback role in south London, and he has now officially joined the Lions on a permanent basis with some supporters expressing their delight.

Malone helped Derby reach the playoffs in 2019. He arguably would have remained a regular under Lampard, but his exit prompted a new direction with the Rams focusing on youth.
Max Lowe first replaced Lowe, and then Buchanan broke through this season.
Malone has since rediscovered his top form at Millwall under the guidance of Gary Rowett.

The 30-year-old has played further up the field in a left wingback role, and over the course of the 2020-21 campaign he posted an impressive five goals and two assists.
Gary Rowett’s side finished in 11th place in the Championship table, 15 points adrift of Bournemouth in sixth spot but a whopping 18 points ahead of Malone’s former club Derby.
