Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has told Football London his side’s January targets are the same as their summer targets amid fresh links with Derby County’s Jayden Bogle.
A report in The Telegraph claims Palace are among four Premier League clubs eyeing a deal for Bogle in January. The Derby man is rated at £7 million.
Bogle was a reported summer target for Palace. TEAMtalk claimed the Eagles, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Brighton and Hove Albion were all tracking him.

And now speaking to Football London, Hodgson admits his side haven’t moved on from their summer targets as the experienced boss seeks to strengthen next month.
We have to be careful. We had a situation earlier in the season where we had five good centre backs for two positions. We’re going to have to get through this period. The players we were looking to improve our squad in the summer, they are still our targets.

Palace have struggled to fill the void left by Aaron Wan-Bissaka who joined Manchester United last summer. Martin Kelly, 29, and Joel Ward, 30, have shared the right-back spot but neither are naturals there while they don’t represent a long-term solution.
Bogle has plenty of potential and he will be a Premier League player in the future.
The 19-year-old broke through to the Rams’ first team last season. He made over 40 Championship appearances, scoring twice and adding eight assists.
He was the most productive teenager in the Championship last season. Bogle outperformed fellow fullback Lloyd Kelly who joined Bournemouth for £13 million last summer.

The Telegraph claim Derby rate Bogle at £7 million. That figure doesn’t represent the England U19 international’s current ability or potential. The Rams must value him much higher.
