Derby County are reportedly interested in signing AFC Wimbledon striker Ali Al-Hamadi.
According to TEAMTalk, Derby have joined the race for the ‘in-demand’ League Two star, and are looking at a potential swoop for him in the January transfer window.
But they are not the only ones interested, with Leeds United, Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers also keen on the 21-year-old.
It had previously been reported by the Sunderland Echo that the Black Cats have already sent scouts to watch Al-Hamadi at Wimbledon.
They also reported that Championship sides Cardiff City, Hull City, Bristol City and Stoke City all retained an interest, too.
It is also reported that the League Two side would want a fee in excess of £1.2 million for their star striker.
Who is Ali Al-Hamadi?
Al Hamadi is an Iraq international, who has represented his country on nine occasions.
He has been prolific for Wimbledon in League Two since his arrival from Wycombe Wanderers in January.
He scored ten goals in 19 appearances in the second half of last season, and this season has four goals and five assists in 14 games.
Whilst the Rams have had some problems when it comes to scoring goals this season, striker is not a position they need more depth in.
They have a good amount of depth in that position already, with James Collins, Conor Washington, Martyn Waghorn and Dajaune Brown all fighting for that starting position.
With interest from the Championship though, it is unlikely Al-Hamadi would make the move to Paul Warne’s side over the second tier.
