According to Sportowefakty, reported Derby County target Kamil Jozwiak was watched by Southampton and Manchester United scouts last weekend.

The Lech Poznan winger came to attention during the January transfer window.

Polstat Sport claimed Derby County and Blackburn Rovers were keen on the Poland international, with Lech Poznan under pressure to sell for finance reasons.

The Polish club, however, alleviated the situation as Darko Jevtic was sold instead.

Derby reportedly retained an interest in the £3 million winger. And, the recent defeat at West Bromwich Albion highlighted the Rams’ lack of options in wide areas.

Phillip Cocu told Ryan Conway after the game how Derby tried to sign a winger in January.

But it appears their chances of signing Jozwiak are all-but over amid fresh reports.

Sportowefakty claim Manchester United and Southampton sent scouts to watch him in action as Jozwiak scored and assisted in Lech Poznan’s win over Legia Warsaw.

Moreover, Bundesliga trio Augsburg, Werder Bremen and Freiburg are keen.

Jozwiak, 22, has enjoyed his best campaign of his career despite the global health pandemic, posting seven goals and four assists – earning an international call-up.

He appears exactly the type of player Derby ought to be seeking. Young, quick, available for a reasonable price while holding a potentially high re-sale value.

The Rams have an interesting summer ahead. Cocu must be given the tools to strengthen, but it remains to be seen what kind of budget the Dutchman will work with.
