According to a report by D3D4, Derby County linked striker Armand Gnanduillet is closing in on a move to Charlton Athletic from League One side Blackpool.

The French-born forward has been in excellent form this season. He has scored 12 goals in 20 league starts, propelling the Tangerines up the League One table.

A report by Football Insider back in November claimed Derby were keen on the player.

But now it seems the Rams will miss out, as Charlton Athletic close in on a deal.

The Addicks have struggled for form over the past two months, slumping down towards the bottom of the Championship table. Injuries have decimated the side.

While number one striker Lyle Taylor has returned from a lengthy layoff, he has snubbed a new contract offer and could leave this month with his deal expiring next summer.

Gnanduillet’s potential arrival at The Valley will give the team a welcome boost. Lee Bowyer’s side have won just one of their last 14 games, including a defeat at 10-man Derby.

The Rams, meanwhile, may turn their attentions to more pressing areas of the team.

Manager Phillip Cocu will be keen to strengthen his side this month, but a new central defender and speedy wide player likely top his wish-list over a new striker.

Gnanduillet has little experience of Championship football. That said, he is approaching his peak years and Charlton have shown they know how to find a potential bargain.
