Derby County find themselves in 6th place of the League One table after a hard-fought 1-0 win at Port Vale last night.
Tyreece John-Jules scored with his first touch back after injury to hand Derby County all three points last night.
Paul Warne’s side have now won their last four in the league and are starting to look good ahead of January, which could be another busy window for the Rams as they vie for promotion to the Championship.
And already there’s been a number of Derby County transfer stories for fans to mull over, with Rams duo Eiran Cashin and Max Bird in headlines.
Both are out of contract next summer, but Leigh Curtis recently revealed that the club are set to offer both fresh terms; the Rams still have a one-year option in Cashin’s current deal.
It’s also said that Hull City will try again for Bird in January after Liam Rosenior’s side tried failed to sign him in the summer.
Elsewhere, another Rams player has been attracting interest ahead of January; Darren Robinson.
Football Insider claimed earlier in the month that Aston Villa and Southampton are both plotting January moves for Robinson, who’s currently sidelined.
Lastly in terms of outgoings, Derby’s teen gen Cruz Allen has bene in headlines recently.
The Sun say that Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle United all fancy the Welsh youth international, who’s scored three and assisted three in seven league outings for the Derby U18s this season.
And in terms of potential signings, there’s a few names said to be on Derby County’s radar, with one being Adam Murphy.
The 18-year-old Irish sensation currently plays for Irish outfit St Pats and TEAMtalk say that Derby are rivalling the likes of Southampton, Crystal Palace, and Manchester City for his signature.
And in another Football Insider story, it’s said that Derby are keen on Blackpool’s CJ Hamilton; the impressive 28-year-old has scored two and assisted six more in 20 League One outings for the Seasiders so far this season.
Hamilton is out of contract in the summer and has interest from QPR and Huddersfield Town too.
And the Rams have been credited with an interest in emerging West Ham talent Divin Mubama, though Warne says Derby County have ‘slim to zero’ chance of signing the striker in January.
Lastly, Warne recently gave an insight on the January transfer window and what it might entail for his side, saying:
“It’s just about getting players in to come and help this team. It doesn’t bother me if they are loans or permanents. I would prefer permanents because they are here for the long term. However there is a benefit to loans.
“Sometimes, because January is a difficult month to do deals whereas the summer they are all free transfers. In fairness, it’s more likely that loans will happen than permanent signings. We have to try to keep pushing the club forward and improve. It would be amiss of me to rule either out.”
