Derby are interested in signing Rotherham United striker Georgie Kelly.

According to Darren Witcoop, Derby are ‘among those watching developments’ as Kelly may be pushed down the pecking order at the Millers, and therefore may be available for a move.

It is said that Rotherham are looking at bringing in Luton Town striker Admiral Muskwe.

However, Rotherham are waiting to see the results for a knee injury Kelly has picked up – if the injury is long-term then Derby will move on to other targets.

Kelly is a 26-year-old striker who first came through in his native Republic of Ireland at Derry City, before joining UCD in 2016.

He then joined Dundalk in the summer of 2018 for an undisclosed fee, going on to spend two-and-a-half years at the club, scoring eight goals in 36 league appearances. He also spent the second half of the 2020 season on loan at St Pat’s.

He then joined Bohemians in January 2021, where he would have his best spell to date. He scored 21 goals in 31 league games, but his side only finished fifth.

This attracted interest from England and Rotherham secured his signature in January 2022. He has since gone on to make 35 appearances, scoring five goals.

He can also play on both wings.

Derby have been looking to bolster their attacking options all summer, being linked with strikers left right and centre.

Most recently they are said to have been interested in Sam Cosgrove of Birmingham City, but a number of clubs are also interested, with Charlton Athletic said to be leading the race.

It is expected to be a busy end to the transfer window for the Rams, players needing to be brought in after injuries to Max Bird, Kane Wilson and Joe Ward.

Derby manager Paul Warne will also be familiar with Kelly, having been the one to bring him to Rotherham.
