Former Derby County graduate Lewis Walker has penned a two-year deal with Italian side Como 1907 following his exit from Queens Park Rangers, Como Football say.
Walker joined Derby’s academy from Ilkeston Town back in 2016.
The son of former Nottingham Forest defender Des Walker, 21-year-old Lewis Walker is predominantly a striker who boasted a decent record at youth level.

After featuring for Derby U18s and U23s, he joined QPR in 2018.
The global health crisis, however, stumped his progress in the youth teams with the Hoops and he later found himself without a club at the beginning of the summer.

Now, according to Como’s official website, Walker has traded England for Italy, saying:
I am very happy to be here – comments Lewis – I found myself very well from the first moment, I think football is a universal language and in Como I feel really good. I can’t wait to start playing, my goal is to work hard to improve myself and be able to help the team score as many points as possible.
Como 1907 play in the third tier of Italy. With a capacity of over 13,000 at their Guiseppe Sinigaglia stadium, they are by no means minnows of Italian football.
The Lombardy-based club spent one season in Italy’s Serie A at the beginning of this millennium, but an immediate relegation and later financial difficulties had a big impact.
Como have twice been refounded since, once in 2005 and then in 2017.

Walker will be hoping he can finally start his senior career with a fresh start in Italy.
Derby, meanwhile, have enjoyed the rise of several academy graduates over the past 18 months with the Rams currently boasting a fine array of talent at their disposal.
