According to Sky Sports, former Derby County manager Gary Rowett is on Millwall’s short-list to take over at The Den, but he isn’t interested in managing Sunderland.
Several jobs have come available this week in the Championship and League One.

Neil Harris resigned from his Millwall post. Daniel Strendel and Jose Gomes lost their jobs at Barnsley and Reading respectively, while Sunderland fired Jack Ross.
Gary Rowett’s impressive CV:
Rowett has been out of work since losing his job at Stoke City earlier this year. However, the former Derby fullback has a pretty impressive CV to fall back on.
The 46-year-old guided Birmingham City to successive top half finishes, while he reached the playoffs in his first season in charge of the Rams – eventually losing to Fulham.
MORE DERBY STORIES
Rowett left Derby to join Stoke, making several enemies at Pride Park in the process. However, he has since admitted regret at his decision following a turbulent Stoke spell.
Millwall are reportedly keen on him as they seek a permanent manager before their next game. Rowett recently hinted on the EFL show that the Lions job is of interest.
He said, quoted by Football.London.
When a job comes up, that’s got a very strong fan base and a really good tradition about the club, loads of people are going to be interested. I’m good friend with Neil (Harris) so I don’t want to be disrespectful. You’ve asked me this eight times already this season so I’m going to look at little bit desperate if I keep saying yes!
Sky Sports, however, claim he isn’t keen on managing Sunderland. It is said Rowett doesn’t want to drop back down to League One as he sets his sights on a Championship post.

Derby have seen several of their former managers turn up elsewhere in the Championship. Nigel Clough at Burton Albion, Paul Clement at Reading and Steve McClaren at QPR.
It’s possible Rowett will join the list during the current international break.
