Former Derby County transfer target Jonathan Panzo has become a target for Borussia Monchengladbach following Dijon’s relegation in France, Foot Mercato report.

Panzo joined Dijon from AS Monaco last summer.

The former Chelsea defender attracted interest in 2020 after Monaco looked to cut their squad, and Derby were one of the clubs looking to sign the young talent.

Sky Sports claimed the Rams had him on their wanted list after re-signing Matt Clarke, but they only wanted to pay around half of Monaco’s £4 million asking price.

But after just a season at the club, the 20-year-old could be on the move again as Bundesliga side Monchengladbach and Augsburg are looking to make a move.

The German duo are said to be keen to take advantage of Dijon’s relegation to sign their prized asset, with Augsburg looking at him as a possible Felix Uduokhai replacement.

Derby, meanwhile, have seemingly missed the boat on another top talent.

Phillip Cocu may not have performed to expectations during his time as Rams boss, but there is no denying he could spot a player and he was let down in the recruitment department.

Strikers Kieffer Moore and Serdar Dursun were also targets last summer, and the duo each went on to score over 20 goals for their respective clubs this past season.

Current Derby boss Wayne Rooney must sort out Derby’s attacking woes, but he also has a big job on his hands with the defence considering the lack of options available.

Matt Clarke, George Edmundson and Teden Mengi were all on loan, while Andre Wisdom and Curtis Davies are both out of contract this summer leaving the squad threadbare.
