Groningen technical director Mark-Jan Fledderus has told rtvnoord that Derby County have made an offer for central defender Mike te Wierik.
The Rams are reportedly making a late push for the Groningen captain.

Phillip Cocu’s side have been chasing a central defender all month. Now, with just over 24 hours of the transfer window remaining, they have turned to the Eredivisie.
Speaking to reporters, Mark-Jan Fledderus has confirmed Derby’s offer.
They reported to us yesterday and it is concrete in itself. For us it is a difficult puzzle, since we also know that there is interest in Samir Memisevic. It will be difficult to let two central defenders go.

Te Wierik joined Groningen from Heracles in 2017. His contract expires this summer, meaning he can walk away on a free at the end of the season.
Groningen may feel they are better of cashing in on him this month.
Te Wierik boasts an 87.4% pass-accuracy rate. He is a ball-playing central defender, and he has helped Groningen post the second-best defensive record in the Eredivisie.
The 27-year-old also suggested to the same editorial he is keen on to move to Pride Park, saying: “It is a super nice club and competition.”
