Derby County are set to bag a minor transfer windfall boost from Jayden Bogle’s move to Leeds United over the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Bogle, 23, is a graduate of the Derby academy, having made the switch to the club from Swindon Town in 2016 as a youth prospect.

The right-back was handed his debut by former manager Frank Lampard in 2018, which resulted in him becoming a regular in the team.

With attacking flair in his game, Bogle was a threat on the flank for many opposition defenders, scoring 3 goals and bagging 16 assists in his two first-team seasons at Pride Park.

That form led to a move to Sheffield United in 2020, which was a double deal with fellow defender Max Lowe.

Bogle made over 100 appearances for the Blades, scoring 12 goals and assisting four in a four-year spell that saw him gain plenty of Premier League experience.

However, with his deal entering the final 12 months at Bramall Lane, a deal was agreed and announced that would see him join Leeds United.

Jayden Bogle sell-on clause

With Bogle’s move to Leeds now complete, many have questioned whether Derby have a sell-on clause included in the initial deal with Sheffield United.

According to BBC Radio Derby reporter Dominic Dietrich, the Rams do have a clause that will see them net a profit from the transfer.

However, that fee is likely to be minimal as it appears to be a percentage of the profit made on the initial fee.

While it may not be a huge figure, it is certainly a boost that will add to the income of the club and is yet another sell-on clause cashed.

Derby sell-on clause transfer boosts

Bogle isn’t the only transfer boost that Derby have been handed from sell-on clauses and other sales made in the summer window.

Omari Kellyman’s move from Aston Villa to Chelsea has bagged Derby over £2million in transfer fees, coming as a huge boost this summer.

Meanwhile, Liam Delap’s transfer to Ipswich Town could give the Rams anywhere from £2million-to-£3million in sell-on fees.

It all adds up and may give Paul Warne the funds to bolster his squad even further for the upcoming Championship season.
