According to the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United remain keen on a deal for Derby County’s Jayden Bogle after emerging as contenders to sign him in the summer.
The talented right-back made his breakthrough with the Rams last season. He posted two goals and nine assists over the Championship campaign, helping Derby reach the playoffs.

Derby’s failure to secure Premier League football was always likely to prompt interest in Bogle. Brighton Hove Albion and Burnley were linked, and now it appears Newcastle were too.
But the Rams managed to hold on to their prized asset over the summer.
Former manager Frank Lampard believes Bogle, who is rated at £10 million, has the tools to become a Premier League regular in the future. He told the Derby Telegraph in May:
MORE DERBY STORIES
He’s been consistent in his performance. He’s become very much a man in the eight or nine months I’ve been here. And there’s loads more to come. Jayden Bogle, to have a season like he’s had at 18, means that he’s going to have a really top career.
Bogle’s campaign so far this season has been disrupted by an injury he picked up against Swansea City. The 19-year-old has since missed six Rams games in all competitions.
Derby’s form without their attacking right-back has been poor. Bogle offers so much to the side, and his absence has illustrated just how important of a player he is.

Newcastle, now under the guidance of Steve Bruce, have DeAndre Yedlin and Emil Krafth as competing right-backs but the Magpies may see Bogle as a better fit long-term.
