Paul Warne has dropped a significant transfer update, with Derby County set to make sixth summer signing.
Paul Warne has looked to get his transfer business done early this summer, having already brought in five new arrivals to Pride Park ahead of the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
Bolstering the midfield has been the priority for Warne as a result of the departure of key players such as Conor Hourihane, Louie Sibley and Korey Smith this summer.
Midfield options have been improved with the likes of Kenzo Goudmijn and Ben Osborn coming through the doors at Derby County ahead of the new season.
Warne has also bolstered his options with the signing of Ebou Adams from Cardiff City, who endured a successful loan spell at Pride Park in the promotion winning 2023/24 League One season.
Derby County haven’t stopped there in bringing in players to boost the depth in midfield, with Warne dropping an exciting transfer update regarding their next transfer move.

Paul Warne confirms that Derby County are set to ‘sign another midfielder’
Warne has looked to further add to his midfield options this summer, despite the three midfield signings already coming through the door, with Derby County close to getting another player through the door.
Speaking to BBC Derby, Warne said: “I think we’ve signed another midfielder which will be good.
“We haven’t got that many midfielders.
“Hopefully we should have another player join the training group on Monday.”
Derby County have recently been linked with Crystal Palace midfielder David Ozoh, who the Rams were reportedly interested in bringing to the club on a loan deal.

Derby County were incredibly depleted in the centre of the park following the 2023/24 season, however Warne has done incredibly well to ensure that they see to those issues early on.
He is well underway with getting his side together early on in the summer, which will be crucial for Warne to help all the new players gel, something that can be difficult, especially following a promotion.
Derby County’s midfield will be tough to break down next season, and Warne looks to have consolidated the spine of his side incredibly well with Premier League and Championship experience, ensuring that they have prepared as best as possible for the challenge of the new season.
Further signings across the pitch must be made, but Derby County can guarantee that their side will be a force to be reckoned with next season as a result of the squad depth they are likely to have in midfield.
Their midfield options are massively improved in comparison to last season, and there would be no surprise if Derby County surprised a few this season with the quality they have in the centre of the park.
