Derby County have brought in some well-known names so far in the transfer window.

Ben Osborn returns to Pride Park 21 years after he was released, while Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates arrive with 134 career goals between them.

Derby County are said to be pursuing a number of other targets who have plied their trade in English football, with the likes of Matt Ryan, Ebou Adams and Ryan Longman on their radar.

While the Rams are clearly aiming for experience in their transfer dealings, their fourth signing looks set to be a player who is yet to leave his home country of the Netherlands.

Derby County set to seal £600k transfer

Derby were credited with having interest in Kenzo Goudmijn recently and it now looks like they are set to snap him up.

Journalist Ian Baker wrote on X: “Kenzo Goudmijn has agreed a four-year deal with Derby. AZ Alkmaar midfielder will complete a £600,000 move tomorrow subject to a medical.”

The midfielder has spent recent seasons out on loan at Sparta Rotterdam and Excelsior Rotterdam, though it wasn’t until the second half of the last campaign that he became a regular at Excelsior.

Goudmijn never managed to establish a place in AZ Alkmaar’s squad and will now begin a new chapter of his career in the Championship.

Kenzo Goudmijn is one of seven Dutchman to play for the Rams

The 22-year-old follows only a handful of Dutch players to play for the Rams, with Kelle Roos most recently spending eight years with the club.

Mike te Wierik had a very brief spell at Pride Park before returning to FC Groningen in 2021, while Nacer Barazite, Ron Willems, Robin van der Laan and Richard Goulooze make up the rest.

Goudmijn will be the only non-English speaking player at the Midlands outfit, but will be eager to do his talking on the pitch next term.
