Manager Darren Ferguson says Peterborough United will allow Derby County and Nottingham Forest target Siriki Dembele to leave with the right offer, Peterborough Today report.

The talented attacker has been linked with a host of clubs this month.

TEAMtalk claim Derby County and Queens Park Rangers are keen while Peterborough Today say Nottingham Forest, Celtic and Rangers are also monitoring his situation.

Reports this week claimed Dembele has handed in a transfer request.

Now, speaking to reporters on his situation, Posh manager Darren Ferguson has confirmed Dembele’s desire to leave and warned an offer must meet the club’s valuation.

“This club has always been the same. If we get the right offer a player can leave, but if we don’t get a good offer he stays and we could keep Siriki for another 18 months. This is not a new situation for me or the club. It happens from time to time, although I’m not comfortable with the fact the transfer request became public. Siriki needs to follow Ivan Toney’s lead. He gave us no problems at all when we didn’t let him go last January. Siriki just needs to play well again because if he gets up to his best form every club will be interested in him. He’s that good.”

Dembele’s contract at Peterborough expires in 2022.

The League One club have made a habit of selling on forwards for big profits, with former Forest man Britt Assombalonga and Derby’s Jack Marriott among them.

The Reds are struggling just outside the Championship’s bottom three. Chris Hughton has plenty of experience, but he will want to strengthen this month.

Derby, meanwhile, are still in the bottom three despite an improvement under interim manager Wayne Rooney. A lack of goals, however, remain an issue.

The Rams will surely look to target a striker this month. But there is no doubt a new wide player would also be welcome with Tom Lawrence and Duane Holmes out of form.

Dembele has five goals and four assists in 16 League One starts this season.
