According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United are considering loan offers for Derby County and Coventry City goalkeeper target Nathan Trott.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at AFC Wimbledon in League One.

After impressing with the Dons, West Ham will now allow Trott to leave on another loan deal but the Hammers want to ensure he is playing regular first-team football.

The Daily Mail claim both Derby and Coventry wanted him this summer.

But the Sky Blues have already seen a move for him turned down as they planned to use Trott as a number two behind regular goalkeeper Marko Marosi.

The editorial add that Doncaster Rovers and Shrewsbury Town are also keen.

Derby, meanwhile, are seemingly unlikely to follow up their interest as the Rams have already strengthened their goalkeeper options with the arrival of David Marshall.

Phillip Cocu’s side saw Ben Hamer return to Huddersfield Town in the summer from his loan spell at Pride Park last season.

With Scott Carson remaining at Manchester City, there was a void to fill between the sticks and Derby turned to Scotland number one Marshall following Wigan Athletic’s relegation.

West Ham have high hopes for Trott who is comfortable with the ball at his feet. He has played six times for England U20s, later earning a call up to Aidy Boothroyd’s U21 squad.

But with Lukasz Fabianski, Darren Randolph and the experienced David Martin ahead of him in the Hammers pecking order, a fresh loan spell makes plenty of sense.
