According to Sky Sports, Derby County face competition for the services of goalkeeper Kelle Roos.
The Rams shot-stopper’s contract expires at the end of the season. Derby have said to be in talks with Roos for the past two months over a new deal, but an agreement has yet to be reached.
The 26-year-old originally joined Derby from Nuneaton Town in 2014. Roos came in as an understudy to then goalkeepers Lee Grant and Adam Legzdins.
Derby’s squad has changed considerably since Roos signed, with the club going through as many as five different managers. Scott Carson’s arrival in 2015 also had an impact on the goalkeeping department.
But under new manager Frank Lampard, Roos has finally managed to break in to the first-team. He was handed his Championship debut in January, starring as Derby beat Reading 2-1 at Pride Park.

Carson’s injury troubles over the past few months have allowed Roos more first-team opportunities. He hasn’t disappointed, conceding just seven goals in 10 games in all competitions.
Roos’ solid form and ability to play the ball out from the back should help him retain the number one spot. Moreover, Sky Sports now claim his performances have attracted interest from elsewhere.
The 6ft5′ goalkeeper will be among Derby’s lowest earners, yet his potential his huge. Lampard will have a big job on his hands in rebuilding the squad this summer but keeping Roos should be a top priority.
Carson turns 34 in September and has a deal until 2020. The former Liverpool man isn’t a long-term solution at Derby, whereas Roos could establish himself as the club’s number one for the next half decade at least.
