According to Peterborough Today, Peterborough United will refuse January bids for Derby County and Queens Park Rangers target Siriki Dembele.

The former Grimsby Town ace has been in fine form this season.

Dembele has posted five goals and four assists in 16 league games this season, while his average of 3.3 dribbles per game is among the best in League One.

According to a report by TEAMtalk in November, Derby and Queens Park Rangers are among the clubs tracking him ahead of the January transfer window.

The latest from Peterborough Today claims Rangers and Newcastle United have also scouted him, but Peterborough aren’t willing to do business in January.

Posh are gunning for promotion. They face a potential dilemma with Dembele’s contract expiring in 18 months, but Championship football is worth more to them than selling now.

Peterborough co-owner Darragh MacAnthony, meanwhile, has labelled the 24-year-old a phenom and a player who puts bums on seats (Peterborough Today).

“Statistically Siriki is the best player in League One. He could do with more goals, but he’s a talent, a phenom who will put bums on seats for sure.”

Darren Ferguson’s side bought the talented forward for a mere £200,000 in 2018 when signing him from Grimsby, while Scotland are looking into his national availability.

QPR haven’t been afraid to spot a potential bargain. The Hoops signed Rob Dickie from Oxford United in the summer, and Lyndon Dykes arrived from north of the border.

Derby, on the other hand, are desperate for more creativity and goals. The Rams are the lowest scorers in the Championship as they face a relegation battle.

Kamil Jozwiak is an exciting talent at Pride Park, but Tom Lawrence has struggled for form while former Liverpool ace Jordon Ibe still has fitness issues after joining in the summer.
