According to the Daily Mail, Sheffield Wednesday are considering a January move for Stoke City’s Lee Gregory who was a reported Derby County target last summer.
Gregory has only been at Stoke for six months following his move from Millwall.
The 31-year-old joined the Potters on a free transfer. The Daily Mail (May 16: Page 56) claimed he chose Stoke after turning down Derby and Sheffield United.
But Gregory’s spell at Stoke hasn’t gone as planned. Manager Nathan Jones, who signed the striker, was sacked and replaced by Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill.
Gregory has started 19 Championship games this season, posting four goals and three assists. However, he has started just three games since late November.

The Daily Mail claim the Owls are considering a move this month. Manager Garry Monk wants to boost his side’s top six chances and sees Gregory as an option.
Stoke boss O’Neill, meanwhile, is said to be looking to offload players to make room for January additions. The Potters find themselves just one point above the drop zone.
Derby’s reported interest started under Gary Rowett, and then again last May.
Considering his age, he doesn’t exactly fit into the profile current boss Phillip Cocu is looking for as the Dutchman seeks to build a fresh, exciting team at Pride Park.
That said, Gregory is a focal centre-forward. He is strong, good in the air and brings others into play. Six or seven years younger and he could have been seen as a good fit.
The Rams currently have Martyn Waghorn, Jack Marriott and Chris Martin for forward options. The latter’s contract, however, expires next summer.
