According to Stretty News, Manchester United are sending Derby County defender Teden Mengi on loan as compensation for poaching three top academy prospects.
The Red Devils received plenty of interest for 18-year-old defender Mengi.
Derby, however, have won the race for his signature as the England youth international underwent a medical at Pride Park on Sunday ahead of a loan until the end of the campaign.
Mengi will provide the Rams with much-needed defensive cover over the next six months.
But Mengi’s arrival will come at a particular cost. Stretty News report that Derby told United they were owed a favour after seeing three academy players move to Old Trafford.

The Rams have one of the best academies in England right now. Their U15s are supposedly among the top prospects in the country, but three recently moved to United’s academy.
Derby have been powerless to see some of their top youngsters go. Players who are not signed to professional deals can leave to join other academies for a compensation figure.
Striker Liam Delap is a noticeable departure as he joined Manchester City last season, while 16-year-old Kaide Gordon looks set to join Liverpool ahead of the transfer deadline.
The three U15 prospects couldn’t be legally named due to their age.
Derby have already seen Max Lowe and Jayden Bogle move to the Premier League, while fellow youngsters Max Bird, Jason Knight, Louie Sibley and Lee Buchanan are reportedly attracting interest from West Ham United.
Former U23 top scorer Morgan Whittaker, meanwhile, is set to join Swansea City for £700,000.
