Reported Derby County target Yannick Bolasie told the Beautiful Game Podcast that there is a chance he will move to fellow suitors Middlesbrough in January.

The Everton winger hasn’t featured for the Toffees this season.

Bolasie, who missed out on Everton’s 25-man squad for their league campaign, was heavily linked with an exit in the summer with Derby and Boro keen.

According to the Northern Echo, the Championship duo were eyeing a late loan deal for him while Boro boss Neil Warnock later admitted missing out on him on deadline day.

Speaking to the Beautiful Game Podcast, Bolasie has suggested he is open to moving to the Riverside Stadium in January but will take care in choosing his next club.

“Man’s looking forward to it, man’s going to see init, you know obviously there’s a chance that man could go to Middlesbrough, but in my heart, things have to be right, and it’s not just pack your bags and jump into this club like it has been the past three times.”

Bolasie joined Everton from Crystal Palace for some £25 million in 2016.

The DR Congo international has played under Warnock before. The current Boro boss called Bolasie an ‘unbelievable player’ when on top form (Northern Echo).

Boro are very much in the playoff picture this season. Warnock knows the Championship inside out, and he will be hoping for a strong push from January onwards.

Derby, on the other hand, are still in the bottom three despite presiding over a six-game unbeaten run after Wayne Rooney was placed as the sole interim manager.

A new wide player could be an option for the Rams in January, as Tom Lawrence has endured a tough run of form while Morgan Whittaker still looks raw at Championship level.

Bolasie, however, wouldn’t come cheap. He will no doubt be on high wages at Everton, and only a club seeking promotion may feel the financial gamble is worth the punt.
