Young talent Reece Nicholas-Davies has taken to Twitter to confirm signing a deal with Derby County after leaving Premier League side Fulham.
The young attacker was in Fulham’s youth teams and posted featuring for Fulham’s U17s side in a game against southern rivals Reading at the end of November.
But since then, his regular match posts on his Twitter account stopped.
During this week, his latest post showed he had been training with Derby’s youth teams and he has since signed a deal with the Rams claiming he can’t wait to get started.
Derby have shown over the past 18 months how much faith they put in their young stars.
Several players have come through the academy to the first-team, including the likes of Louie Sibley, Lee Buchanan, Max Bird and Jason Knight.
Jahmal Hector-Ingram, Louie Watson, Kornell McDonald, Jack Stretton and Morgan Whittaker have also made first-team debuts, with the latter later joining Swansea City.
Hector-Ingram and Watson both joined Derby after leaving West Ham United.
The Rams play their youngsters, and they create a path for the academy stars to feature at senior level whereby in the Premier League they may not get the chance.
Watson was out of favour at West Ham and joined Derby last September. He has since made five Championship appearances, including a full debut in recent weeks.
Nicholas-Davies will know that with the right application, he could also break through at Pride Park and be handed the chance to become a first team squad member.
