According to Antalyason Haber, reported Derby County target Nicolas Isimat-Mirin is set to join Hatayspor on a season-long loan deal from Besiktas.
The French defender played under current Derby boss Phillip Cocu at PSV.
Isimat-Mirin helped the Dutch team win the Eredivisie title three times. However, after Cocu’s departure, the defender fell out of favour under his successor Mark van Bommel.
Isimat-Mirin later joined Besiktas in January 2019, before joining Toulouse on loan last term.
According to Fotospor last month, Derby made an approach to sign the player amid reports he wasn’t going to feature for Besiktas in the coming campaign.
The Rams have been keen to strengthen the defence, with last season’s Player of the Year Matt Clarke returning on a season-long loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.
But a potential move for Isimat-Mirin now looks out of the question.
Antalyason Haber claim an agreement has been struck with Hatayspor over a year loan deal where both clubs will pay 50% each of his current wages.
Derby County’s defensive situation:
Derby are still light on defenders, and reports suggest they are about to be even lighter.
Sky Sports claim Sheffield United have agreed a deal in principle to take both Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe to Bramall Lane in a deal worth around £15 million.
The Rams have left-back cover in Craig Forsyth and Lee Buchanan. On the right, however, Andre Wisdom is the only other senior option deemed natural there.
Moreover, Wisdom featuring regularly on the right could leave Derby short on central options with Clarke, Mike te Wierik and the ageing Curtis Davies left to choose from.
